MEASURE WHAT MATTERS

Data-Driven Development. MLB-Level Methodology.

At AFH, we don't guess. Every athlete is tracked through the most advanced hitting technology available — combined with The Fields Hitting System, refined over 43 years inside Major League Baseball. You don't have to wonder if your athlete is improving. You'll see the numbers.

HitTrax

The gold standard for hitting data. Every swing captured. Every metric tracked.

✓Exit velocity
✓Launch angle
✓Hit distance and direction
✓Time to contact

Athletes leave each session knowing exactly where they are and how they're improving.

Rapsodo

Real swing data. Real swing answers.

✓Exit velocity
✓Launch angle
✓Exit direction
✓Spin rate and spin axis
✓Point of contact

Rapsodo shows us exactly how the ball came off the bat — so we know where your athlete crushes the ball and where they need work.

Data drives the conversation. The Fields Hitting System drives the development.

THE METHODOLOGY

The Fields Hitting System

For over 40 years, Bruce Fields refined a methodology inside Major League Baseball.

Drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 1978, Bruce played 14 professional seasons across five organizations — including time in the big leagues with the Tigers and Mariners. He won three minor league batting titles along the way.

After his playing career, Bruce served as MLB Hitting Coach for the Detroit Tigers under Alan Trammell, and later as MLB Hitting Coach for the Cleveland Indians in 2011 and 2012. He also managed in the Tigers organization for eight seasons and was twice named Midwest League Manager of the Year.

That career — as a player, a Major League hitting coach, and a minor league manager — is the foundation of The Fields Hitting System.

Built around 5 Areas of Hitting: Set-Up, Load to Stride, Touchdown, Swing, and Finish. Applied individually to every athlete.

We don't teach every player the same way. The system is a proven framework. The art is in how we apply it to each individual — based on their body type, their swing tendency, their stage of development, and where they're trying to go.

That's the difference between a hitting program and AFH.

THE COMPLETE HITTER

Approach, Confidence, and a Plan at the Plate

Most hitters are coached on mechanics. Very few are ever taught how to think in the box.

The truth is, the gap between a great cage hitter and a great game hitter is rarely physical. It's approach. It's knowing what to look for, how to set a plan, how to recognize the strike zone, and how to compete pitch to pitch without anxiety getting in the way.

We've lived it. As professional players, a Major League hitting coach, and a Detroit Tigers scout, we know what actually separates hitters when the lights come on — and it isn't just the swing. It's the ability to walk into the box prepared, with a plan, and compete.

That's what we teach. Every athlete learns to manage the mental side of hitting — building confidence, controlling anxiety, and approaching each at-bat with purpose. Because a hitter who's prepared is a hitter who can compete.

Mechanics build the swing. Data measures it. Approach is what turns it into results in the game.
