Bruce Fields

Bruce Fields

Founder & Head Hitting Coach

Bruce Fields is a 43-year veteran of professional baseball. Drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 7th round of the 1978 MLB Draft, he played 14 seasons across the Tigers, Mariners, Athletics, Blue Jays, and Braves organizations—batting .274 in 58 Major League games. He won three minor league batting titles (.323 at Birmingham, .368 at Nashville, .351 at Calgary). After his playing career, Bruce served as MLB Hitting Coach for the Detroit Tigers (2003-2005) under Alan Trammell, managed in the Tigers organization for eight seasons (548-442 record), and was named Midwest League Manager of the Year twice. He was also named Tigers Player Development Man of the Year in 1998.

Daniel Fields

Daniel Fields

Pro Hitting & Outfield Coach

Daniel Fields was selected in the 6th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers out of University of Detroit Jesuit High School, where he was named Michigan Mr. Baseball as a senior. He was a 2nd Team Baseball America All-American and Baseball Factory Under Armour All-American. Daniel spent 12 years in professional baseball, earning the Lakeland Tigers MVP award, an organizational Gold Glove for center fielders, and was named an organizational All-Star at Double-A Erie in 2013. He made his Major League debut with the Detroit Tigers in 2015. Daniel specializes in hitting and outfield defense, bringing first-hand knowledge of what it takes to develop from a high school prospect into a professional.

Aaron Fields

Aaron Fields

Pro Hitting Coach

Aaron Fields attended University of Detroit Jesuit, helping lead them to the State Championship game in 2006 while earning All-Catholic League, All-Detroit, All-District, All-Regional, and 2nd Team All-State honors. He played four years at Wright State University, earning Horizon League All-Newcomer Team honors in 2007 and All-Tournament Team in 2010. Aaron was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 42nd round of the 2010 MLB Draft and played two seasons professionally before transitioning to scouting for the Detroit Tigers (2012-2013). He brings a unique combination of playing experience and a scout's eye for player evaluation and development.

Ryan Krill

Ryan Krill

Hitting & Infield Coach

Ryan Krill was a standout at Michigan State University, earning four varsity letters and All-Big Ten honors. As a senior in 2015, he led the Big Ten in nearly every offensive category during conference play: batting average (.451), slugging percentage (.857), on-base percentage (.545), RBIs (36), and home runs (10). He was named MSU's John Kobs Most Valuable Player, the Kirk Gibson Offensive Player of the Year, and the Jerry Sutton Student-Athlete Award winner. His 57 RBIs tied for ninth-highest in program history. Ryan finished his career with a .351 average and 13 home runs, including a go-ahead grand slam in the Big Ten Tournament against Nebraska. He was drafted in the 9th round by the New York Yankees and played 3 seasons in their organization.

Tyler Tompson

Tyler Tompson

Pitching Coach

Tyler Tompson played four years at Wayne State University before beginning his coaching career as a student-assistant there. He then served as graduate assistant at Southeastern University, helping lead the team to a 53-12 record, Sun Conference title, NAIA Regional Championship, and a berth in the NAIA World Series. Tyler then joined Ron Wolforth's Texas Baseball Ranch in Montgomery, Texas as a pitching instructor and events coordinator, later being promoted to Durathro™ Coordinator—running their online training program for athletes nationwide. He has worked with players of all ages and levels, from little league to the Major Leagues.

Amani Karim
Kalamazoo College Standout

Amani Karim

Hitting & Infield Coach

Amani Karim is a graduate of Brother Rice High School who went on to play four years of collegiate baseball at Kalamazoo College as a middle infielder. He posted a career .310 batting average while helping lead the team to multiple 20-win seasons and a home playoff appearance in 2021. Amani is a 4-year letter winner and 2-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll selection. He graduated in 2021 with a degree in Business. Amani has also been part of the Michigan Express Baseball coaching staff since 2019, working with infielders and hitters.

Brett Borrocci

Brett Borrocci

Director of College Placement

Brett Borrocci serves as the Director of College Placement at AFH Baseball Academy, helping players navigate the recruiting process and find the right college fit. He brings extensive coaching experience as the varsity baseball coach at Royal Oak High School, along with previous assistant coaching roles at Marygrove College and Bishop Foley Catholic High School. Brett specializes in helping players understand what college coaches look for, building recruiting profiles, and connecting athletes with opportunities at the next level.
